The Technology Behind Flex Pro
4mm Super Control Latex
The palm compound used across the Flex Pro range is Super Control latex — 4mm of reliable all-weather grip that performs consistently from the first session. Super Control is the entry point into Elite Sport's performance latex hierarchy: it delivers genuine tackiness in both dry and wet conditions and performs best when the palm is kept slightly damp during play — a standard practice among goalkeepers at all levels that activates the latex surface for maximum contact.
Super Control is not the same latex used on premium match gloves (the GTech Pro and EsTec compounds in Prime Pro and Control Pro deliver higher peak tack and wet-weather specialisation). It is, however, a genuinely capable palm compound that provides the grip consistency a developing goalkeeper needs across training sessions and club matches — without the lifespan limitations of high-tack match compounds under daily use.
NRoll Cut with Wrapped Thumb
The NRoll cut on Flex Pro gloves delivers roll finger performance without full roll finger bulk. The fingers feature a tapered flat cut at the base with roll finger tips — providing rounded fingertip latex coverage and additional ball contact at the most critical save contact point, while keeping the palm channel lighter and more agile than a full roll finger construction. The wrapped thumb adds latex coverage at the most load-bearing digit during high catches.
AVM (Air Ventilation Management) fabric is stitched into the finger gussets — maintaining breathability and preventing moisture build-up in the hottest match conditions, even at the entry-performance price point.
Protection Spec That Matches the Series Above
Despite being the accessible entry tier, Flex Pro shares structural protection specifications with Force Pro:
- 3D-embossed 4mm PS (Protection System) latex backhand with 4mm reinforced Shock Zone foam
- 5 removable finger spines for customisable finger protection
- 360° latex wrist strap with elastic connector and rubber pull tab
This means a goalkeeper wearing Flex Pro has the same structural hand and wrist protection as a goalkeeper in the Force Pro range — the difference is in the palm latex compound, not the safety spec. A beginner or developing goalkeeper is not trading away hand protection by choosing the accessible price tier.
The Flex Pro Range — Models for Every Style
Vibora — the flagship Flex Pro model. Flat cut for a natural, comfortable feel. The choice for goalkeepers who prefer room across the fingers and ease of movement.
Orca — NRoll cut for maximum latex-to-ball contact. The step up in grip feel within the Flex Pro range.
Squid — same specification as the Orca in a different design aesthetic. A strong choice for goalkeepers who want the NRoll performance with a distinctive look.
Azlan, Calavera, Gaudi, Combat N — additional Flex Pro models offering slightly different design profiles within the same performance specification.
When Should You Step Up From Flex Pro?
Flex Pro is the right choice for as long as you are at club level, developing your technique, or using gloves primarily for training. When you are ready for a dedicated match glove — or when you find yourself consistently wanting more from your palm's grip in match conditions — the next step is the Control Pro series for precision and all-weather performance, or the Force Pro series if protection is your priority on demanding surfaces.
